Cathode Ray Oscilloscope kya hota hai: Cathode Ray Oscilloscope, also abbreviated as CRO, is used to measure electrical quantities in waveform.

 With the help of this device, the web form of electrical quantity is shown with the help of graph in respect of amplitude and time. This device has 2 axis to show the graph, X Axis, Y Axis.

Cathode Ray Oscilloscope With the help of non-electrical quantity can also be measured but for doing this transducer is used.

Parts of Cathode Ray Oscilloscope

Cathode Ray Tube

Cathode Ray Tube: An electron gun is attached to the cathode ray tube, when the voltage is applied to this electron gun, then the electron beam comes out from the electron gun, this electron beam collides with the Phosphor screen through vertical deflection plate, horizontal deflection plate.

Vertical Amplifier

The signal to be metered is sent to a vertical amplifier, this amplifier amplifies the signal and sends it to the delay line circuit and this signal is further displayed on the vertical deflection plate.

Delay line Circuit

When the signal is sent from the vertical amplifier to the delay line circuit, some part of the signal is also sent to the horizontal amplifier.

 A delay line circuit is used to hold the signal coming out of the vertical amplifier for the time it takes for the signal to process through the horizontal amplifier.

Trigger Circuit

The trigger circuit is used to trigger the signal coming from the vertical amplifier in a certain time interval, the time interval is known through the time base generator.

Horizontal Amplifier

When the signal is amplified from the vertical amplifier and goes to the delay line circuit, then some part of the signal is also sent to the horizontal amplifier. Before the signal reaches the horizontal amplifier, the signal is processed through the trigger circuit and time base generator in a certain time interval.  Triggering is done.

 The signal received in the horizontal amplifier is weakened, it is re-amplified and the signal is sent to the horizontal deflection plate.

Working

Cathode Ray Oscilloscope is used when any electrical or non electrical quantity is to be studied through web form.

 In this instrument electrical quantities can be measured directly while transducers are used to measure non electrical quantities.

 The quantity to be measured is sent to the vertical amplifier. The quantity is amplified through the vertical amplifier. Now the amplifier quantity is sent to the delay circuit. Meanwhile, some part of this quantity is sent to the horizontal amplifier.  First this quantity is triggered in a certain time interval through the trigger circuit and time base generator, by doing this the quantity becomes week, this quantity is amplified through a horizontal amplifier and the quantity is sent to the horizontal deflection plate.  As soon as this quantity arrives at the horizontal deflection plate, the delay circuit sends the quantity received from the vertical amplifier to the vertical deflection plate.

 During this process, the electron beam is reflected on the screen through the cathode ray tube.

 As soon as the quantity comes in the vertical deflection plate and horizontal deflection plate, these plates spread the electron beam, by doing this a webform of quantity is formed in the screen which is in respect of magnitude and time.
