Hello engineers I am Vaibhav you are reading the post of electrical Zindagi it's a part of Shri Raadhe studies
Friends, are you also from the electrical background, then friends, today's post is going to be very important for you, in today's post we will talk about the power triangle of the power factor, although in the earlier post I told you about the power factor. Basic introduction has been given, hope you have read that post but still you have not read that post, so below I am giving you the link, you can read that post by clicking on it.
Friends power factor is such a topic for electrical engineer like soul for body, so if you have not read my previous post, then definitely read it, without reading it you will not understand much of today's post.
Power Factor Definition
पावर फैक्टर डेफिनेशन
"The cosine of angle between voltage and current in an a.c. circuit is known as Power Factor"
P=VICOS¢
- Comparably to voltage in power factor current is not of leading power factor
- The story of power factor is only in AC supply, not in DC supply.
- In resistive load there is zero degree displacement of current and voltage web form, in inductive load there is 90 degree displacement of current and voltage web form and in capacitive load also there is 90 degree displacement of current and voltage web form.
- Current and voltage web form in the same direction in a resistive load
- The current in the capacitive load leads the voltage by 90 degrees
- Current in an inductive load lags the voltage by 90 degrees
- When our electrical system will be of inductive nature and alternating current will be flowing in it then only power factor will be talked about.
- Due to the inductive nature of the electrical system, there is a displacement of 90 degree in the webform of current and voltage. This 90 degree angle between current and voltage is called ¢ and if this value is placed with Cos, then the obtained value is called power factor. Is.
So let us now talk about power triangle in power factor.
What is Resistance ? What is Conductance? What is Inductance? What is Capacitance? What is Reactance? What is Impedance? What is Reluctance? Click here
What is Power Tangle?
Shows the status of power in the transmission and distribution of electricity.
As you know friends, the story of power factor is seen in alternating current and at the same time, if the load is of our inductive nature, then only the power factor is seen, if our load is of capacitive nature, then in such a condition, the power factor is not discussed above.
Now in the previous post, I told you how the current lags the voltage due to the load of inductive nature.
The above shown figure shows the vector diagram of voltage and current of an inductive load.
Friends, you must have learned in mathematics that if a line is oblique, then it has two values.
Here, if there is a line X, then its two values will be X Cos ¢ and X Sin ¢
In the above figure, the value of OB is I, so it will have two values, I Cos ¢ or I Sin ¢
Now multiplying all the three values by V.
This is called power triangle.
Where
OA = VI COS¢ Active Power
AB = VI SIN ¢ Reactive Power
OB = VI Apparent Power
Now the question will arise in your mind that what is active power, reactive power and apparent power.
What is Active Power, Reactive Power and Apparent Power?
(Apparent Power) - The power sent from the source is expressed in KVA. This is the reason that in the power system there is a rating of the power transformer, for the time being we will talk about it some other time.
(Active Power) - The power received by the load is called active power and it is expressed in kW.
(Reactive power) - Some power is not used between source and load, which we call wastage of power, this power is called reactive power, it is expressed in KVAR.
If you have read my previous post, then you will remember that in the previous post, I had said the first sentence for power factor, I had said that the general meaning of power factor is such power which is wasted in the power system, that is, power factor. Means from reactive power Now if I find the value of angle fi ¢ in front of reactive power.
Cos ¢ = OA/OB
Cos ¢ = Active power/ Apparent Power
Cos ¢ = KW/KVA
from here i can say
The ratio of active power and apparent power is called Power Factor.
I hope now you have understood the importance of power triangle in power factor.
